How To Measure Your Basal Temperature Correctly To Find Out If You're Ovulating?

Daily basal temperature measurement is one of the simplest methods for detecting ovulation. It is measured in the mouth, in the vagina, or in the rectum.

Here’s a table of approximate basal temperatures depending on the phases of your cycle:

Basal temperature in the first (follicular) phase of the menstrual cycle - 98.2-98.4°F (36.8-36.9˚С)
1-3 days before ovulation - 33.8-41°F (0.1-0.5˚C).
Ovulation - higher than 98.6°F (37˚С)
Luteal phase higher than during the whole follicular phase - 98.2-98.4°F (36.8-36.9˚С)
The difference in temperatures in the first and second phases should be at least 32.72°F (0.4˚C). A high basal temperature should last no fewer than 8 days.
