Dysuria or painful urination is associated with pain, burning sensation, or discomfort when urinating. This problem is more common among women and not only does it bring discomfort to your daily life, it is also a sign of a serious health condition.

Painful urination for women can be caused by UTI (urinary tract infection), vaginal infection, inflammation of the urethra, meds with urethra irritation as a side effect, allergy to chemicals, or some STDs.

If you have fever, bloody or cloudy urination, or a strong smell accompanying painful urination, you should see the doctor ASAP.
